![]() ![]() From a bar chart, we can see which groups are highest or most common, and how other groups compare against the others. A bar chart is used when you want to show a distribution of data points or perform a comparison of metric values across different subgroups of your data. Sometimes, bar charts show other statistics, such as percentages. Data concerning two categorical (i.e., nominal- or ordinal-level) variables can be displayed in a two-way contingency table, clustered bar chart, or stacked bar chart. The major difference is that a histogram is only used to plot the frequency of score occurrences in a continuous data set that has been divided into classes, called bins. ![]()
